This dark red liqueur is originally from the north in Basque country and Navarra, but is now very popular all over Spain. Made by steeping sloe berries, coffee beans and a little vanilla in sweet anise over many months, the resulting liqueur is sweet and rich with a fruity, aniseed flavour. Traditionally drunk after a meal as a digestif this is best served over ice. Makes a delicious end to a meal.
